Free marketing plan template for 2026

A marketing plan is not a 40-page document that nobody opens after January. It is seven decisions, written down, that stop you from reacting to every new tool, every competitor's post and every sales dip. We built this template from the plans we write for clients; the Estonian guide it grew out of has been downloaded by a few hundred founders, and this English version is shorter and more opinionated.

What is inside

How to use it: block one evening. Go through the sections in order. Where there is a prompt, write a real answer, even a rough one. Where there is a number to fill in, fill it in; a wrong number you can correct beats a blank. At the end you have a plan that fits on a few pages and that your team, your agency or your future self can actually follow.

  • 1. The one number
  • 2. The customer you actually want
  • 3. Why you, in one line
  • 4. Channels, by job
  • 5. Budget that matches the goal
  • 6. The 90-day calendar
  • 7. The numbers you will look at

Each section has a short why, then the fields, then one rule of thumb from our own accounts. Print it, or fill in the PDF, or copy the headings into a doc. The thinking matters, the format does not.

Section by section

7 sections, in the order we run them

  1. 1. The one numberEvery plan starts with the business number marketing has to move. Revenue, qualified leads, new customers, retention. One number, with a date. Everything below serves it.
  2. 2. The customer you actually wantNot everyone who might buy. The customer who buys easily, pays on time, stays and tells others. Your marketing gets cheaper the moment you can describe this person in a sentence.
  3. 3. Why you, in one lineYour positioning is the sentence your customer repeats to their boss or partner. If it needs explaining, it is not finished.
  4. 4. Channels, by jobChannels are not a menu to pick from, they are tools for jobs. Demand capture (people already searching), demand creation (people who do not know they need you yet), and retention. Most growing brands need one strong channel per job, not six half-done ones.
  5. 5. Budget that matches the goalWork the budget from the goal, not from what is left over. If the maths does not close, change the goal or the budget now, not in September.
  6. 6. The 90-day calendarA year plan with 90-day blocks. Each block has one theme, two or three campaigns and a fixed review date. The plan survives contact with reality because you only commit in detail to the next block.
  7. 7. The numbers you will look atFive numbers, checked on a fixed day, with a target next to each. Not a dashboard with forty widgets. If a number has no decision attached to it, drop it.

Who wrote this

Hi, I am Sarah.

I run Maison Mint, a boutique marketing agency in Tallinn that manages Google and Meta ads, does SEO and GEO, and builds the tracking underneath it, for brands growing across the EU. Everything in this template comes from accounts we run, not from a course.

The resources on this site are free because the people who find them useful are exactly the people we like working with. No sales sequence, just the Wednesday newsletter, which you can leave with one click.

Questions

Before you download

Who is this marketing plan template for?

Founders, marketing managers and small teams at e-commerce, service and B2B companies who want a plan they will actually use. It assumes no prior marketing training; it does assume you know your numbers.

Is the template really free?

Yes. Enter your email, we send the PDF and the download link, and you also get our Wednesday newsletter (one tactic, one tool, one number). Unsubscribe any time with one click.

Is there a Word or Google Docs version?

The PDF is designed to print or fill in on screen. The last page explains how to copy the headings into a doc; the structure is what matters, not the format.

How is this different from the Estonian marketing plan guide?

The Estonian guide (40 pages) explains the theory step by step. This English template is shorter and more opinionated: seven decisions, fields to fill in, and one rule of thumb per section from our own client accounts.

Can Maison Mint help me execute the plan?

That is what we do. After you have filled in the template you can book a free 30-minute call and we will go through it with you, whether or not you become a client.
